Employment
Quality Control and Manufacturing at Jones Double Reed Products
303 E. Pacific Ave., Spokane WA.
I have worked this job on a part-time basis since 2020. At this job, I operate light machinery, performing fine manufacturing processes to make precise modifications to Arundo donax, a type of cane used in the production of reeds for musical instruments. I also perform quality control; I inspect and play-test oboe reeds individually to ensure they meet the company's standards for playability and tone quality. At this station, I also categorize reeds by strength. See more about reedmaking in my hobbies section.
